PEDOMETER
The project is focused on material knowledge and manufacturing. With ‘Apoteket Hjärtat’ as a fictive client a pedometer was designed with the company brand and customers in mind. ‘Apoteket Hjärtat’ stands for high quality and safety, to meet this the materials used for the pedometer has a lower environmental impact and is designed so that it can be recycled and does not contain substances which could irritate the skin of the user. Selected materials for the pedometer are CA (Acetat) for upper and lower side and PLA (Polylactide) for the parting line. The materials are mainly selected from a environmental perspective where the materials are recyclable and/or biodegradable. Production methods for the pedometer is injection moulding, this is chosen to achieve a fine and detailed surface and to reuse any possible spillage during the process. The technical drawing illustrates the details and all the components of the pedometer, except electronics.
