MUSCEL
Blue mussels are efficient filter feeders and can be used as a resource to reduce the eutrophication of our seas. In this material driven design project, locally grown mussels have been used to create new materials. The end result is the material concept Muscel; a biodegradable material that can return to the natural cycle. Muscel light is created based on the natural and handmade expression of the material. The decorative design accentuates the uneven and shimmering structure.
